The Village of Lake Barrington is sponsoring a weekly farmer’s market at the Market Place (Route 59 and Kelsey Road). The kick-off celebration starts Tuesday, June 6 (3 – 7 PM). On each Tuesday thereafter through October 17 (with the exception of July 4), vendors will feature locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, meat, eggs, fresh fish, salsas, sauces, oils, cheese, candy and local honey; as well as hot dogs and other delectables. Special days will also be highlighted during the season for non-traditional market vendors as well as special events for the entire family.
Ample parking is steps away in the adjacent Market Place parking lot, with visitors encouraged to visit the local shops or perhaps dining at ZaZa’s Tavola Italian.
A number of vendors have committed to the Lake Barrington Farmer’s Market this year and others are invited to apply. Details are available on dedicated Facebook page; through the Lake Barrington Village Hall; or by contacting either Market Manager, Bob DePalma at 224-523-1302 or Market Coordinator, John Schaller at 847-254-7290.
